Robert Brown discusses Sarah Crews’ LGBT-based labor lawsuit against the Ithaca Police Department [AUDIO]
A Northern District Court of New York judge recently ruled that most of the allegations in Sarah Crews’ LGBT-based labor lawsuit against the Ithaca Police Department can go forward. This went against the city of Ithaca, which tried to dismiss the case. One of the city of Ithaca’s arguments was that Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, which covers employment-based discrimination, does not include sexual orientation. The judge dismissed this argument.
Here’s an interview WRFI’s Laura Rosbrow-Telem did with Robert Brown from the Tompkins County Workers’ Center about this case. This interview first aired on “Your Morning” on March 30.
