Recreational Marijuana Legalization Forum (April, 29, 2019) AUDIO

Legalized recreational marijuana is sweeping the country. With neighboring states Vermont and Massachusetts already on board, could New York be next? The Governor has put legalization of recreational marijuana on his agenda for 2019 or 2020.

The League of Women Voters of Tompkins County and WRFI Community Radio are pleased to present this public forum on the topic. The event was held Monday, April 29 at 7pm at Tompkins County Public Library and was simulcast on WRFI.

Panelists included: Jim Sharp, Director Emeritus, of the Van Dyke Addiction Treatment Center; Nellie Brown, Director of Workplace Health & Safety Programs, at Cornell School of Industrial and Labor Relations; Derek Osborne, Tompkins County Sheriff; Dr William Klepack, Medical Director, of the Tompkins County Dept. of Health; and Matt Van Houten, Tompkins County's District Attorney.
