Earth Island Journal Speech at Izzy Award 2019 [AUDIO]
Earth Island Journal is an independent publication of the Earth Island Institute. The publication’s goal is to support environmental activists and leaders working to protect biological and cultural diversity that sustains the environment through the sharing of stories.
The Magazine is a 2019 Izzy Award Winner for their in-depth reporting on the overlap of environmental rights and women’s rights. The award ceremony took place on April 15th, with the award accepted by Maureen Nandini Mitra, editor, and Zoe Loftus Farren, managing editor.
Nandini Mitra delivered the acceptance speech and with Loftus Farren, sat down for an interview with Ithaca College’s Park Scholars.
This feature first aired on WRFI Community Radio News on May 3, 2019. It was also done in collaboration with “Ear to Earth,” a special WRFI News series about how climate change is impacting Tompkins County, in collaboration with the Park Scholars Program at Ithaca College.
