On Tuesday, the New York state Court of Appeals began to hear oral arguments about the State’s proposed congressional maps. According to Politico, a decision on the new maps is expected by the end of the week. The state’s new maps would create 22 seats won by President Biden and 4 won by former President Trump. Last month, a Steuben County judge ruled the maps were an unconstitutional gerrymander. Democrats have appealed the decision to the State Court of Appeals which is made up entirely of Democratic appointees.
