On Wednesday August 10th, the Tompkins County Health Department will be hosting a free Moderna booster clinic. Those 18 and older seeking their first booster dose are eligible to attend this clinic. For those seeking a second dose, the requirements are a little bit tighter: those 50 and older who received their first dose at least four months prior, and those 18-49 who received Johnson & Johnson for both their primary and first booster dose, are eligible. The clinic will be held at Lifelong on Court Street in downtown Ithaca. F. Oliver’s, a business known for its specialty ingredients like olive oil and vinegar, is closing its location on the Ithaca Commons. According to the Ithaca Voice, the Ithaca store cited staff shortages as the primary reason for having to close its doors. despite having a loyal customer base and seeing decent success since its 2012 opening. The Downtown Ithaca Alliance has created an online form for people to submit business proposals to fill the vacancy. The Downtown Ithaca Alliance is searching for “a similar type of store, given that there appears to be a very strong demand and market for this type of product in Ithaca.”

New York State Police in Ithaca are searching for two suspects connected to a stolen credit card. According to WENY, the elderly victim discovered that her card was gone on Saturday, and discovered that more than $1000 in charges had been racked up. The card was used at Walgreens in Dryden and Target in Lansing. Surveillance footage is available to view online. The police ask that anyone with information come forward and call the New York State Police at 607-347-4463.
