- Ithaca Park Gets National Historic Recognition -
Stewart Park has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The organization, Friends of Stewart Park says in a statement that the national designation will help protect the park’s 19th-century buildings. It will also makes the park eligible for state historic preservation matching funds. Earlier this year the park was added to the State Register of Historic Places.
- Borg-Warner Extends Closure Plans Not As Extensive as Previously Reported -
We have an update about previous reports that Borg-Warner would close part of its Lansing facility next year. The Ithaca Voice says that the company will only close one division and it won’t happen until 2026. There will be some job losses but the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce says it won’t be as many as were previously reported. Also, the Chamber says the manufacturer is currently hiring. The Chamber also says Borg-Warner has plans for new products to be made in Ithaca.
