- Former Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy Will Serve Jail Time for Perjury -

A former Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to jail on Friday. Zachary Starner will serve 60 days in county jail and three years on probation. The Ithaca Times says Starner was convicted of perjury in March because he deliberately provided false testimony during a 2019 trial. He could have received up to 364 days in jail.  Starner was fired from the sheriff’s department after the guilty verdict.

- Ithaca Police Are Asking For Help Finding A Missing Man -

The Ithaca Police are asking for help in their search for a missing man. Police say Thomas Rath disappeared under suspicious circumstances around May 17. They say he might be in danger. He was last seen behind Lowes, in the area called “The Jungle”. He’s six feet tall and weighs about 145. He was wearing black jeans and top and carrying a blue bag. Anyone with information can contact the Ithaca Police by calling or emailing their tip line.
