- Tompkins County Legislature May Change Funding For Local Arts and Culture Groups -
The Tompkins County legislature postponed a vote on funding to local arts and cultural organizations. The money usually comes out of the Hotel Tax Fund but legislators couldn’t agree on a resolution that would lower the amount in the fund. The issue will be on the agenda of this month’s meeting.

- New Food Recycling Location to Open in Enfield -
Enfield residents will soon be able to recycle their food waste. Tompkins County is opening a new drop off site at the Enfield Town Clerk’s office. Collection starts on Saturday.The County’s food waste collection program is part of its efforts to reduce greenhouse gasses by reducing the amount of trash that goes to landfills.  For details check here.

- Ithaca Resident Continues Legal Fight Have Home Returned After Foreclosure -An Ithaca resident is fighting to have his home returned to him after losing it in a foreclosure sale. Ben Okumu is living in his former home even though Community Bank foreclosed and sold the property to a new owner. The Ithaca Times reports Okumu alleges that the foreclosure process violated federal laws. Community Bank has denied the foreclosure and sale violated any laws. He is suing to have his home returned. The New York State Supreme Court hasn’t decided whether to hear the case.
