- Tompkins County COVID-19 Testing Site To Close -
The COVID-19 testing site at the Shops at Ithaca mall will close this Friday. Tompkins County Whole Health and Cayuga Health say the site is no longer needed because of the steady decline COVID-19 cases over the past months. People can still get PCR tests from their doctors and at Cayuga Health’s Immediate Care. The county health service says over 300,000 tests were done at the mall since it opened in 2020.
- Ithaca CarShare To “Pause” Operations Because of State Insurance Regulations -
Ithaca CarShare will pause operations on May 19 because it’s losing its insurance. They say the problem is a regulatory issue unique to New York State and it affects other non-profits. A bill proposed by Assemblyperson Anna Kelles and State Senator Lea Webb would resolve the problem but it it’s stuck in committee until the state budget is approved. The budget is over a month late.
