CREATIVES: New Orleans Artist Lynn Drury with Dan Aloi
"I love to rock, but I like to roll – I like it all … I have a country song on every record and then I have a New Orleans song on every record. I would just write in these different veins and then it all melded together. But I knew in the beginning that I had to sound like me -- I couldn’t sound like anybody else. That was a goal from the get-go: to sound unique, and to find that voice.”
Drury's unique style is the product of her country music raisin' mixed with her love R&B and Pop, and twenty plus years of soaking up the sounds of the Crescent City. She started out calling her music, "Mississippi Grit, New Orleans Groove," settling finally on "NOLAmericana".
In her 25+ years living and performing in New Orleans, Drury has collaborated with countless NOLA legends and stalwart musicians. On this tour she's joined by John Fohl lead guitar, Eric Bolivar drums, Rene Coman who have backed artists including Dr John, Lenny Kravitz, Anders Osborne, Ellis Marsalis, and been in bands like Bonerama and The Iguanas.
She'll be at Deep Dive in Ithaca on Thursday 6/29/2023.
