Cayuga Lake Environmental Action Now (CLEAN) Opposes Cargill Salt Mine Expansion [AUDIO]
John Dennis, co-founder of Cayuga Lake Environmental Action Now (CLEAN) speaks about why the organization opposes expansion of Cargill’s salt mine in Lansing. The New York Department of Environmental Conservation approved Cargill’s plan to construct a new mine shaft without requiring that the company complete an environmental impact statement (EIS). Dennis discusses the reasons why CLEAN thinks that the DEC was incorrect in their assessment and why the organization and local municipalities are conducting article 78 litigation against the state agency.
