Ear to Earth, Ep. 3: Environmental racism [AUDIO]
This is the third episode of “Ear to Earth”. It’s a special WRFI News series about how climate change is impacting Tompkins County, in collaboration with the Park Scholars Program at Ithaca College.
In this third piece, there are two segments about environmental racism. Producer Skylar Eagle speaks with IC Professor Pranietha Mudliar about her research in the first half -- specifically, how resource policies affect communities of color. In the second part, Producer John Turner talks to Margaret Ann Bowers, also known as Poco, about climate issues facing the Cayuga Nation.
John Turner and Skylar Eagle produced this episode. WRFI News Director Laura Rosbrow-Telem editorially supervised it. Elena Piëch mixed the theme sequence, using music from Blue Dot Sessions.
