The Ripple Effect: Climate Change and Fingerlakes Waterways
From Finger Lakes to gorges, our region is known for its water. But with these great resources, come some great risks. In an era of accelerating climate change, the Ithaca area provides a unique site to explore climate-inflected water hazards including flooding and drought, harmful algal blooms, invasive species, and others. With “Ripple Effect," WRFI Community Radio and its community collaborators will take a deep dive to explore how scientists, students, businesses, farmers, planners, lawmakers and ordinary residents in the Finger Lakes are studying and adapting to these challenges.
This project is the fifth in a series of collaborations with Ithaca College Park Scholarship students and is supported in part by a grant from Engaged Cornell.
